The construction industrial needs an innovative approach to enhance the effectiveness of the traditional CPM-based project management. In this context, the simulation approach has been gaining in popularity due to its potential ability to deal with the dynamic complexities of construction processes. However, in order to be more widely used in practice, the simulation approach needs to be more flexible so that input and out data can be interchangeably used with the CPM-based methods. To meet this challenge, DPM has been implemented as a general simulation method based on System Dynamics. DPM would help ensure that construction projects can be delivered in time without driving up costs by enhancing the planning and control capabilities of the project management. It would also assist in increasing the applicability of the simulation-based method to construction projects.
